Christmas 2012

Having left my Christmas card making a little late this year, I stuck with the CAS ('Clean And Simple') approach and got them out just in the nick of time!

Card Catchup 2012

Well, it's been forever since I've uploaded to the blog! So long in fact, that the dashboard settings have all since changed and I am having to find my way around all over again!
We have been so busy with the shop throughout the year, that I have barely found the time to create my own cards :)
These are a few that I managed to churn out during the course of the year.

With Sympathy...

This card is for a special family member who has just lost her Son to cancer.
I really wanted it to be special, as she is so heart-broken to have had to watch her child go before her.
There are 9 Layers in all (not including the base).
The sentiment is one of my favourites, and reads: 'Flowers whisper what words cannot say'.
Inside, I printed the most Beautiful Verse from an unknown author:
Don't think of him as gone away
his journey's just begun.
Life holds many facets
this earth is only one.
Just think of him as resting
from the sorrows and the tears,
in a place of warmth and comfort
where there are no days and years.
Think of how he must be wishing
that we could know today,
how nothing but our sadness
can really go away.
And think of him as living
in the hearts of those he touched...
for nothing loved is ever lost
and he was loved so much.

A Card For My Father

'Masculine' Cards are something I struggle with.
Flowers & Butterflies are an obvious no-no, but surely I can get away with satin ribbon & a bit of 'bling' right?
Anyways, this is what I came up with for my father.
Recipe:  Spellbinders Labels 16 & 17
Kaisercraft clear journaling stamp
Stampin Up sentiment
Slot Punch used to create a ribbon-slide
Satin Ribbon & Rhinestones from stash.

Vintage 'Thinking Of You'

Basic 'Black & White' Card

Cottage Cutz Bird Cage
Stampin Up sentiment
Martha Stewart Doily Edge Punch
Papers, Pearls & Ribbon from stash

Elf Tilda

For our youngest Daughter's 3rd Birthday.
This card called for a 'special' Flower, which is how I first came up with this 'lacey' creation.
I must say, I liked it so much that I have been using it in varying colours over and over lately!
Recipe:     Spellbinders Circle & Scalloped Circle Nestabilities
Magnolia Stamps 'Elf Tilda' coloured with prismacolor pencils
Flower created with 'creatables' dies
Stickles glitter for sparkly wings
Paper, Peel-Off & Pearls from stash
